Data center expansion projects proposed in Hauts-de-France
Major data center development projects are being proposed in the Hauts-de-France region. In the Arras agglomeration, the real estate firm Goodman is studying a project to build a campus of four data centers on a 23-hectare site in Brebières-Corbehem. The project, located on the former Stora Enso factory site, would require significant electrical infrastructure, including a 225,000-volt substation to be installed by RTE in nearby Noyelles-sous-Bellonne. Completion is tentatively targeted for 2030.
In the Compiègne area, PKM Logistique, through SCI Alyssa, is considering a new data center project at the Lachelle ZAC. This proposed facility aims to match the 300-megawatt capacity of the Rantigny site and could potentially create up to 150 direct jobs and 500 total jobs including indirect roles. The Compiègne agglomeration has granted an option to purchase 28 hectares of strategic reserve land for this purpose. Like the Rantigny project, the long-term goal is to attract an international hyperscaler to operate the infrastructure.
