Data center projects in Oise face local opposition and expansion

A major data center project in Rantigny, Oise, is facing significant local opposition. Residents and officials from neighboring communes, such as Neuilly-sous-Clermont, have expressed concerns regarding noise, heat, high electricity consumption, and environmental impacts. Due to requests from opponents to review updated documents and studies provided by the developers, the prefecture has granted an extension to the public environmental inquiry.

In addition to the Rantigny site, a second large-scale digital infrastructure project is being planned by the same developer, SCI Alyssa (formerly SCI Alyssa, now Rantigny Data Center), led by Mustapha Kherief. This second project is proposed for the commune of Lachelle, near Compiègne. While the Rantigny project is currently undergoing public consultation, the Lachelle project has not yet entered an official public inquiry phase.
