Data4 appoints senior executives to accelerate European data‑centre expansion

European data‑centre operator Data4 announced two senior appointments as it prepares a new phase of growth and transformation. Tareq Rajjal was named Senior Vice President Operations; he brings experience from Amazon Web Services, Amazon Logistics and a former COO role at Aruba in Italy. David Eames was named Senior Vice President Engineering; he previously led engineering strategy at the Yondr Group, guiding its rapid scale‑up to hundreds of megawatts.

Data4 currently operates 11 data‑centre campuses across Europe, with investments exceeding €20 billion, a total capacity of 2.2 GW and a plan to double its footprint by 2030. The new hires are intended to strengthen end‑to‑end operational processes, engineering discipline and industrial‑grade execution to meet rising demand for cloud services and artificial‑intelligence applications. COO François Sterin said the appointments mark a key milestone for the group’s “global infrastructure” and will help deliver more resilient, high‑performance digital infrastructure for Europe’s digital economy.
