Dave Plummer launches TMOG, a macOS Task Manager, in public beta

Dave Plummer, the original author of the Windows Task Manager, has released TMOG (Task Manager OG) for macOS as a free public beta. The utility combines the visual simplicity of Apple’s Activity Monitor with the detailed metrics of the classic Windows Task Manager, offering live displays of CPU usage per logical core, clock speed, cache, temperature, GPU load, memory pressure, swap, network traffic and power consumption, updating up to 60 times per second.

TMOG is built in Swift as a universal macOS app, supporting both Apple‑silicon and Intel Macs from macOS 13 onward. It is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. The beta can be downloaded directly from the developer’s website; distribution via the App Store is not possible due to required system‑level permissions. A Windows version with native Win32 components is planned, and while the core functionality will remain free, a paid tier may be introduced later.
