David Beckham names Lionel Messi as Ballon d’Or favorite

Ballon d'Or Lionel Messi David Beckham Inter Miami football

David Beckham has named Lionel Messi as his preferred candidate for the Ballon d’Or, bypassing other prominent names such as Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, and Lamine Yamal.

Beckham cited Messi’s performance during the World Cup as a decisive factor, stating that the Argentine player, despite being 39, was likely the best player of the tournament and maintained a significant influence in every match.

Beckham’s support for Messi also aligns with his professional ties; he has been a co-owner of Inter Miami, the club Messi joined in 2023, since 2021.
