David de la Encina appointed as Government Delegate in Ceuta

The Spanish government has officially appointed David de la Encina Ortega as the new Government Delegate in Ceuta, replacing Miguel Ángel Pérez Triano. The appointments were formalized via royal decree following approval by the Council of Ministers.

De la Encina, a lawyer specialized in administrative and corporate law, previously served as the Mayor of El Puerto de Santa María between 2015 and 2019. His professional background also includes roles with the Junta de Andalucía, specifically as a provincial coordinator for Andalucía Emprende and as a trainer for the Andalusian Public Security School.

María Jesús Montero, the PSOE General Secretary of Andalusia, expressed full support for the appointment, noting De la Encina’s strong ties to Ceuta. She emphasized that his familiarity with the autonomous city would facilitate effective coordination regarding migration management and the implementation of economic revitalization plans for the region.
