David de Miranda repeats Puerta del Príncipe win as Salamanca unveils San Juan de Sahagún bullfight

Torero David de Miranda from Huelva was honoured at Seville’s Feria de Abril for a second consecutive year, receiving the Puerta del Príncipe trophy – the only bullfighter allowed to open the gate for the 2025 and 2026 editions. The ceremony took place in the Patio de la Montería of the Real Alcázar and included a tribute to bullfighting legend Curro Romero.

In Salamanca, the La Glorieta arena hosted the unveiling of the second edition of the San Juan de Sahagún corrida. Mayor Carlos García Carbayo and businessman Antonio Barrera presented the official poster, a work by artist David García. The event, scheduled for 12 June, will feature local matador Marco Pérez alongside José Antonio Morante de la Puebla and Daniel Luque. Six Salamanca‑bred cattle have been listed, with Martínez Perez noting, "se siente mucha emoción al salir por esta Puerta Grande." The mayor called the corrida "un evento de primera entidad" and pledged to make Salamanca a leading figure in the world of bullfighting.
