David Tennant returns for new Doctor Who audio adventures

David Tennant is set to return as the Tenth Doctor in a new series of audio adventures produced by Big Finish Productions. The upcoming 12-episode audio drama series will feature Tennant reuniting with Anjli Mohindra, who reprises her role as Rani Chandra from the spin-off series ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’.

The new trilogy, titled ‘The Tenth Doctor and Rani’, is scheduled for release in 2027, with individual episodes arriving in August, October, and December. The stories include ‘The Hidden’, ‘Empress of the Universe’, and ‘In Effects’. The plot follows the Doctor and Rani as they investigate strange creature sightings and navigate intergalactic expeditions, including a crisis during the coronation of Elizabeth I.

According to producer Matt Fitton, the character Rani will be ‘whisked away to amazing adventures’. Anjli Mohindra noted the significance of the reunion, stating that the shared connection to Sarah Jane provides a ‘shortcut’ for the two characters.
