Rome police arrest two minors for minicar attacks
Two minors, aged 16 and 17, have been identified and questioned by authorities following a series of violent attacks in Rome involving a black minicar. The suspects reportedly admitted to their involvement in the incidents, which occurred between October 4 and 5 in the Monteverde Vecchio and Testaccio neighborhoods.
The investigation, coordinated by Prosecutor Ambrogio Cassiani, includes charges of attempted murder. One of the most severe attacks targeted actor Davide Iacopini, who was struck by the vehicle while on a scooter. Iacopini underwent a successful second neurosurgical procedure at San Camillo Hospital and remains in intensive care under strict prognosis.
Investigators utilized approximately 40 surveillance cameras and technical support from the Carabinieri's Cyber Investigation and Technical-Scientific units to track the vehicle. A black diesel minicar, which was reported stolen, has been seized as part of the probe. The vehicle was noted for specific features, including red LED lights near the license plate.
