Daytime Emmy Awards reveal presenter lineup and drama series contenders

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the presenter lineup for the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Presenters include various daytime television stars such as Sunny Hostin, Derek Hough, Star Jones, and several actors from classic daytime dramas including Crystal Chappell and Joe Lando.

In the Best Daytime Drama Series category, a significant competition is emerging between the long-running veteran 'General Hospital' and the first-year contender 'Beyond the Gates'. 'General Hospital' has won the category for the past five years, but 'Beyond the Gates' has received 15 nominations, making it the most-nominated freshman soap in the awards' history. According to Gold Derby odds, 'Beyond the Gates' holds a 78% chance of victory, which would make it the first new program to win the category in the ceremony's 53-year history.
