53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards
Overview
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced details for the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, scheduled for October 30, 2026, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be accessible via live stream on the official Emmys YouTube channel, the Emmys app, and various smart TV applications.
In the Best Daytime Drama Series category, a notable competition has emerged between the veteran program ‘General Hospital’ and the first-year contender ‘Beyond the Gates’. While ‘General Hospital’ has held the category for five consecutive years, ‘Beyond the Gates’ has received 15 nominations, the highest for a freshman soap in the ceremony’s history.
Additionally, nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress participated in the annual celebratory luncheon. Hosted by 2025 winner Nancy Lee Grahn, the event included nominees Heather Tom, Karla Mosley, Michelle Stafford, Tamara Tunie, and Stacy Haiduk, continuing a tradition established in 2005.
