Decathlon recalls B’TWIN e‑scooters over safety defect in Germany
Decathlon has issued a recall for its B’TWIN e‑scooter models SD500E and MD500E that were sold in Germany between 1 September 2024 and 15 June 2026. Quality checks found that intensive use can cause a crack at the connection between the frame and the stem, which may break and lead to a rider’s fall.
Customers are instructed to stop using the affected scooters until they are repaired. Decathlon provides a free repair kit that reinforces the joint, along with step‑by‑step instructions. An online portal allows owners to request the kit by entering their email address and country. The company apologised for the inconvenience and thanked users for their trust.
