Decathlon to open first northern Luxembourg store in Weiswampach

Decathlon is set to open its first store in northern Luxembourg at the Massen Shopping Center in Weiswampach on September 26. The 1,050-square-meter facility will occupy the former JBC premises and is strategically positioned near the Belgian and German borders.

The location serves as a gateway to the Luxembourgish Ardennes, situated within reach of the Belgian Ardennes and the German Eifel region. This area attracts between 3.5 and 4 million overnight stays annually. Nicolas Deltenre, regional director for Decathlon Belgium and Luxembourg, stated that the new site fills a “clear white spot on the map,” as residents and tourists previously had to travel long distances to access the retailer.

The store will offer products for over thirty sports, with a specific emphasis on outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking, camping, running, and cycling to cater to local tourism. The outlet will operate seven days a week, including Sundays, and will feature a bicycle workshop aiming to complete most repairs within 24 hours. Decathlon plans to hire approximately ten employees capable of assisting customers in French, German, and English.
