West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has arrived in East Nusa Tenggara to oversee relief efforts following a magnitude 7.7 earthquake on Flores Island, which resulted in 83 deaths and extensive property damage.
The West Java Provincial Government is providing approximately Rp4 billion to Rp4.5 billion in emergency aid. This funding includes the distribution of rice, medicine, and sanitation supplies, as well as direct cash assistance for home repairs. Financial aid for housing is tiered based on the severity of damage: Rp20 million for heavy damage, Rp10 million for moderate damage, and Rp5 million for light damage.
During his visit to the Manggarai and Manggarai Timur regions, Mulyadi inspected damaged structures, including homes with collapsed or cracked walls. While staying at the Ruteng Diocese in Manggarai, he expressed gratitude to Bishop Siprianus Hormat for the hospitality provided to the visiting delegation.
