Deepak Kumar Sah appointed Nepal Industry Minister
Prime Minister Balendra Shah has appointed Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Deepak Kumar Sah as the new Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies. Sah succeeds Gauri Kumari Yadav, who resigned from the position following criticism regarding her remarks on LPG suppliers during a cooking gas shortage in the Kathmandu Valley.
Sah is a mechanical engineer and energy expert with over 23 years of professional experience in the hydropower sector, including roles in project operation, maintenance, and policy management. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Pulchowk Engineering Campus and a master’s degree in Natural Resource Development.
Politically, Sah previously served as the chair of the Sarvodaya Party and the Janaswaraj Party, and held the position of vice chair in the Janamat Party before joining the RSP. He was elected to the House of Representatives from Sunsari Constituency No. 4.
