Defendant Abdiaziz Farah sentenced to 38 years after juror bribe

A federal judge in Minnesota sentenced Abdiaziz Shafii Farah to an additional ten years in prison, to run consecutively with his existing 28‑year term, for attempting to bribe a juror during the Feeding Our Future fraud trial. The bribery scheme involved delivering a Hallmark‑wrapped bag containing $120,000 in cash to the juror’s home and promising further payments if she voted to acquit the defendants.

The Feeding Our Future scheme defrauded roughly $300 million of federal COVID‑19 relief funds. Prosecutors said the conspirators tracked the juror’s address, researched her background, and even placed a GPS device on her vehicle to monitor her movements. The attempt was reported by the juror, leading to her dismissal and the subsequent sentencing of Farah and co‑defendants.
