Feeding Our Future fraud sentencing

Overview

Legal proceedings continue regarding the ‘Feeding Our Future’ fraud scheme, which involved the fraudulent collection of hundreds of millions of dollars in federal COVID-19 relief and child nutrition funds.

In one instance, Abdiaziz Shafii Farah received a total sentence of 38 years after a federal judge in Minnesota added ten years to his existing term for attempting to bribe a juror. The bribery attempt involved delivering $120,000 in cash to a juror’s home and using a GPS device to monitor her movements.

Separately, Abdirahman Mahamed Abshir was sentenced to 78 months in prison for his role in the scheme.
