Hull City beats Konyaspor 3‑0 in Slovenia pre‑season friendly

Hull City opened their Premier League preparation with a 3‑0 victory over Turkish side Konyaspor at the Aluminij Sports Park in Kidričevo, Slovenia on 25 July 2026. Goals came from Enis Destan in the 28th minute, an own‑goal by Konyaspor’s Arif Boşluk, and a finish by Abu Kamara after a Liam Miller assist.

Manager Sergej Jakirović praised the performance, noting the win “sets a strong tone” for the squad ahead of their season‑opening clash with Manchester United on 22 August. He also hinted at possible summer signings, mentioning interest in Croatian internationals Toni Fruk and Marco Pašalić and confirming that new players such as goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis and defender Elliot Stroud are expected to join soon.

Club owner Acun Ilıcalı, who also owns Hull City, described Konyaspor as a “friend club” and emphasized the value of playing strong Turkish opponents in preparation. He also discussed transfer policy, stating that the club is looking for quality players while being transparent with fans.

Broadcast details were mixed: Turkish outlets reported no live TV coverage for the match, while other sources claimed the game would be streamed on TV8,5 and the Exxen platform. Regardless of broadcast, highlights were expected to be shared on the clubs’ official social‑media channels.
