Delcir Sonda linked to Internacional leadership after R$ 20M donation

Businessman Delcir Sonda is expected to increase his political influence within Sport Club Internacional following a R$ 20 million donation intended to cover the club's overdue salary payments. The funds are expected to enter the club's accounts to facilitate immediate payments to players.

Sonda, who has a long-standing relationship with the club involving investments and player involvement, is being considered for a prominent role in the upcoming year-end elections. Discussions suggest he may run for an elected vice-presidency as part of Roberto Melo's potential administration, which would allow him to join the Management Council. Additionally, there are indications that Sonda may renew his mandate on the Deliberative Council under the Movimento Inter Grande (MIG) slate.
