Delhi court frames charges in bus gang rape case

A fast-track court at Tis Hazari in Delhi has framed charges against a bus driver and a conductor in connection with the gang rape of a minor. The accused, identified as Kuldeep and Sandeep, face charges including rape, kidnapping of a minor, and violations of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The incident occurred in August on a moving bus traveling from Mainpuri toward Delhi. According to Delhi Police, the victim was thrown off the bus near ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Investigators stated that forensic evidence, including DNA samples from the accused matching hair and semen recovered from the victim’s clothing and the vehicle, conclusively supports the allegations.

Special Judge (POCSO) Sonam Gupta framed the charges after finding sufficient material in the case. The trial is scheduled to commence on October 24, with the court listing the matter for prosecution evidence at that time. The proceedings have been conducted in a closed courtroom.
