NEET-UG paper leak: Court rejects accused plea for polygraph and brain-mapping tests
The Rouse Avenue Court has rejected a plea from three individuals accused in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case to undergo polygraph, brain-mapping, and lie detector tests. The accused, including Mangilal Biwal, Vikas Biwal, and Dinesh Biwal, argued that such tests would ensure a fair and transparent investigation under Article 21 of the Constitution. However, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opposed the application, arguing it was not maintainable.
The CBI has submitted a voluminous charge sheet of nearly 20,000 pages against 13 accused individuals. The document includes details on 360 witnesses, 422 documents, and 43 material objects. According to the agency, subject matter experts allegedly extracted exam questions from the National Testing Agency (NTA) office by exploiting a lack of thorough searches and CCTV monitoring in the confidential section.
The court has extended the judicial custody of the accused until August 12, which is also the date set for the court to pronounce its order on taking cognizance of the CBI charge sheet.
