On August 12, the court took cognisance of the nearly 20,000-page chargesheet. On September 1, the Supreme Court of India used its powers under Article 142 to quash First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against students protesting the paper leak and ordered a formal policy to facilitate compensation for students who committed suicide due to the examination issues. On September 5, the Rouse Avenue Court remanded Sheshrav Bajrang Suryawanshi, the 14th accused, to judicial custody until September 18. The CBI alleges Suryawanshi, a resident of Nanded, Maharashtra, acted as a close associate of Shubham Madhukar Khairnar.
