Delhi court seeks medical report for Satya Niketan collapse accused

The Patiala House Court has requested a medical report from jail authorities regarding the bail plea of 82-year-old Hari Ram Gupta. The request follows a previous rejection of his bail application in connection with a building collapse in Satya Niketan on September 6.

The collapse resulted in seven deaths and several injuries, with one victim reported to be in critical condition. Gupta, the husband of the building owner Urmila Gupta, is accused of involvement in site work. The court previously denied bail on September 18, noting that the investigation is in its initial stages and a charge-sheet has not yet been filed.

Gupta’s counsel argued for bail based on the defendant's age and health issues, specifically high blood sugar. The court has scheduled a hearing for the matter on September 30.
