Overview
Following the September 6, 2026, collapse of the ‘Hostel Daze’ building in Satya Niketan, which killed seven people—including five students and two labourers—and injured five others, the Delhi government has intensified its crackdown on unsafe student housing. The MCD has since escalated its enforcement efforts through a city-wide drive targeting unauthorized constructions and building bye-law violations.
