Delhi court takes cognizance of charge sheet in minor's gang rape case

A Tis Hazari Court in Delhi has taken cognizance of a charge sheet filed by the police regarding the gang rape of a minor girl on a moving bus. The incident occurred on August 4 near Pari Chowk.

According to the investigation, the victim, a resident of Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, boarded a bus from Greater Noida heading toward Delhi. The bus driver, Kuldeep, and the conductor, Sandeep, are accused of sexually assaulting the minor and subsequently throwing her out of the bus near ISBT Kashmiri Gate.

The 400-page charge sheet includes statements from 50 government witnesses and forensic reports. The accused face charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The court has initiated the process for the next stage of hearings to frame charges.
