Delhi Development Authority consults experts on Master Plan 2047

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has conducted the sixth and seventh rounds of stakeholder consultations regarding the Master Plan for Delhi 2047 (MPD 2047). These discussions, held under the direction of Lieutenant Governor T. S. Sandhu, aim to ensure a participatory implementation of the long-term urban development strategy.

During the sessions, architects, planners, and representatives from various organizations—including the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), and the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI)—provided feedback on critical issues such as traffic management, parking infrastructure, and redevelopment projects. The DDA presented its vision for a sustainable, green, and liveable national capital, highlighting spatial development policies like Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and Land Pooling Areas.

These meetings are part of a broader three-month outreach program. The DDA plans to hold approximately 20 consultations to engage diverse stakeholder groups and incorporate various perspectives into the final planning framework.
