Delhi Development Authority seeks investors for slum rehabilitation

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) held an investors’ meet to advance its in-situ slum rehabilitation programme. The initiative is part of the Master Plan for Delhi–2047 (MPD-2047), which aims to provide affordable and dignified housing for approximately 17 lakh slum cluster dwellers.

The meeting served as an interactive platform for private developers and stakeholders to discuss project structures, implementation mechanisms, risk allocation, financing, and approval processes. The DDA seeks to build a transparent and market-responsive framework to encourage private-sector participation in urban redevelopment.

By utilizing in-situ rehabilitation, the programme intends to improve living conditions at existing locations while promoting integrated neighbourhood development, better urban infrastructure, and more efficient land use. The DDA noted that successful implementation will require close coordination between public institutions, private developers, and the local communities.
