Delhi Court Extends Detention of 10 Accused in NEET Paper Leak Case

The Raoje Avenue Court in Delhi has extended the judicial custody of ten individuals accused of involvement in the NEET‑UG 2026 paper‑leak scandal until 11 July. All ten were presented to the court via video‑conference on 29 June, and their detention was prolonged following the hearing.

Earlier, CBI‑named PV Kulkarni, a retired chemistry professor from Latur and former member of the NEET question‑paper panel, and Shivraj Motegavkar, operator of an RCC coaching centre, had their custody extended to 8 July. Investigators allege Kulkarni orchestrated the leak by exploiting his access to the National Testing Agency (NTA) process and distributing the papers through coaching centres, while Motegavkar received the papers about ten days before the exam.

The original NEET‑UG 2026 exam scheduled for 3 May was cancelled after the leak allegations and re‑conducted on 21 June under heightened security measures.
