Delhi establishes fast‑track court for exam paper‑leak cases

The Delhi High Court has set up a special fast‑track court at the Rau's Avenue complex (court No. 408) to hear cases of paper leaks in NEET and other competitive examinations. Judge Anu Grover Baliga, previously a mediation centre judge, has been appointed as the special judge.

The court aims to accelerate trials and impose harsher penalties under the amended Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, which proposes up to ten years' imprisonment and fines of up to 10 crore rupees for organized leak conspiracies. The move follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for swift, tough action against those compromising students’ futures, and follows the cabinet’s approval of a draft bill strengthening the act.

The fast‑track court will transfer all pending cases related to paper‑leak and related offenses to this single forum to ensure rapid disposition and deterrence.
