Delhi experiences rare temperature dip as rainfall subsides
Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) have experienced a significant temperature drop, with recent minimum temperatures marking some of the lowest late-September readings in years. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a minimum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius was recorded on Tuesday, the lowest September minimum in the capital since 2008.
Various stations across the city reported below-normal temperatures, including Palam at 19.7 degrees and The Ridge at 16.9 degrees. While mornings have been unusually cool, daytime maximum temperatures have remained around 32 to 33 degrees Celsius.
The weather pattern is expected to shift as recent rainfall and thunderstorms subside. The IMD forecasts that Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and parts of Uttar Pradesh will likely experience predominantly dry conditions and clear skies through the first week of October. While northwest India dries out, heavy rainfall is expected to continue in southern, eastern, and northeastern parts of the country.
