Delhi authorities launched a sweeping enforcement drive on unsafe buildings, inspecting 577 properties across all 13 revenue districts in six days. The operation, ordered by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, resulted in demolition actions at 163 premises, sealing of 205 sites, and the issuance of 190 show‑cause notices, 129 sealing notices and 67 demolition orders. Inspections targeted residential buildings, hotels and guest houses for violations such as missing fire‑clearance certificates and unauthorized land‑use conversions.

In a related enforcement action, the Union Ministry’s Land & Development Office took physical possession of the 15.20‑acre Jaipur Polo Ground in Delhi’s Race Course area. The step follows a May 20 eviction order citing a larger public purpose, though details of the intended use were not disclosed. The Delhi High Court declined to stay the eviction, allowing the possession to proceed.
