Delhi experiences heavy rain and severe waterlogging

Heavy rainfall in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) has caused significant waterlogging and traffic disruptions. Key arterial roads, including the Delhi-Airport stretch, the Dwarka underpass, and several South Delhi corridors, were submerged, leading to bumper-to-bumper traffic jams and delays for commuters traveling toward Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Specific areas reporting heavy rain and flooding include Chanakyapuri, Janpath, Kartavya Path, India Gate, Rao Tularam Marg, and Firozeshah Road. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the region, forecasting cloudy skies with spells of light to moderate rain throughout the day and evening.

This weather event follows similar disruptions earlier in the month, where intense rainfall inundated low-lying areas and prompted numerous waterlogging complaints to the Public Works Department.
