Delhi hotel blaze claims 21 lives, dozens injured

A fire erupted at the Flourish Stay bed‑and‑breakfast hotel in the densely populated Hauz Rani area of south Delhi's Malviya Nagar on June 3, 2026. The blaze killed at least 21 people, including Indian and foreign nationals, and rescued more than 40 others.

Max Hospital in Saket received 39 patients from the incident. Eighteen were brought in dead, while fifteen were admitted to the intensive care unit, eight of them on ventilators. Minor‑injury patients were treated and discharged, and one severely burned patient was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital. The hospital activated its mass‑casualty response protocols to manage the influx.

Families gathered at the hospital seeking information, many unable to recognize their loved ones due to severe burns. Relatives described the scene as chaotic, with thick smoke and panic. Police and forensic teams have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown.
