Delhi inaugurates Green SM electric taxi fleet in NCR

Delhi ministers Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Pankaj Kumar Singh officially launched Green SM’s electric taxi service on June 5‑6, 2026. The fleet of 1,000 battery‑electric cabs, operated through a dedicated mobile app, is manufactured in India at a new plant in Tamil Nadu owned by the Vietnam‑based Green SM.

The service emphasizes women’s safety – each vehicle is equipped with three cameras and will be driven by female drivers. Officials said the fleet is slated to expand to 10,000 vehicles across the Delhi‑NCR region within a year, supporting the capital’s clean‑mobility goals and the Delhi EV Policy.
