Delhi Jal Board ex-Chief Engineer granted police custody in tender scam case

A Delhi court has granted two days of police custody to Satish Chandra Vashisht, the former Chief Engineer of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), following his arrest by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB).

The arrest is linked to a 2024 FIR involving an alleged scam in the tender process for upgrading 10 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs). Investigators allege that tender conditions and various corrigenda were manipulated to favor a specific company, M/s Euroteck.

The ACB is seeking to determine Vashisht’s role in approving restrictive technical specifications and whether confidential internal tender information was improperly shared with other individuals. The accused is scheduled to be produced before the court on September 10.
