Delhi LG reviews preparations for 2026 BRICS Summit
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu has chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the national capital’s readiness for the 2026 BRICS Summit. Scheduled for September 12-13, the summit will be hosted in New Delhi as India holds the BRICS presidency for 2026.
Sandhu emphasized the necessity of seamless multi-agency coordination and time-bound execution to align with national priorities. He issued directives to stakeholder departments to ensure robust security protocols, streamlined traffic management, civic upkeep, and emergency medical readiness across all key venues and movement corridors.
In conjunction with the summit preparations, the Eighth BRICS Youth Energy Summit 2026 was held in New Delhi. This virtual event involved over 100 participants, including energy professionals and representatives from various BRICS member countries' energy ministries, focusing on advancing energy cooperation and sustainability.
