Delhi Metro: FIR filed over anti-government posters

Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals after two anti-government posters were discovered inside a train on the Delhi Metro’s Airport Express Line. The incident occurred on October 20, when a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) train operator, Tarun Chaudhary, spotted the posters on a seat during an inspection while traveling from New Delhi station toward Yashobhoomi station.

The black-and-white, A4-sized posters contained various slogans, including “You Can Change Your Own Life,” “Voting Protest,” and “Dissatisfied? You Are Not Alone.” They also listed nine claims regarding changes in the country over recent years and featured a QR code inviting readers to join an online group.

Authorities have seized the posters, and the investigation is being conducted with the involvement of the Delhi Police Special Cell. The FIR has been filed under the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Public Property Act, 2007, and the Metro Railway (Operations and Maintenance) Act, 2002. Police are currently working to identify those responsible for placing the materials inside the train.
