Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma accused of assault and corruption

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) against Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, alleging both physical assault and corruption. The party claims Verma slapped a 22-year-old civilian, Sahib Singh, during a road inspection in the Tilak Nagar area while the individual was recording the proceedings.

In addition to the assault allegation, AAP Delhi unit President Saurabh Bharadwaj has raised concerns regarding a Rs 23-crore road repair project on the Outer Ring Road. The party alleges that the road was not constructed according to required specifications and has demanded an independent audit by an agency such as the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI).

AAP leaders stated they will approach the courts if the Delhi Police fail to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Verma. Conversely, police have registered an FIR against AAP leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj and Jarnail Singh, along with several party workers, for allegedly assaulting a head constable and obstructing official duties during protests.
