Parvesh Verma faces controversy after allegedly slapping youth in Delhi

A political confrontation has erupted in Delhi following an incident in Tilak Nagar where PWD Minister Parvesh Verma allegedly slapped Sahib Singh, an associate of AAP MLA Jarnail Singh, during a road inspection. The incident occurred while Singh was questioning the quality of a newly constructed stretch of the Outer Ring Road and livestreaming the proceedings.

Delhi Police have taken legal action on both sides. A non-cognizable report (NCR) was filed against Minister Verma for voluntarily causing hurt, while an FIR was registered against MLA Jarnail Singh for allegedly obstructing a public servant and damaging public property.

Opposition leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi, have condemned the Minister's actions. Kejriwal criticized the incident as a sign of political arrogance and demanded Verma's arrest. Conversely, Minister Verma defended his actions, claiming that AAP supporters were attempting to extort commissions from contractors and had abused his family during the confrontation.
