Delhi-NCR experiences heavy rain following IMD orange alert
Heavy rainfall has lashed parts of the Delhi-NCR region, including Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for the area following a sudden shift in weather patterns.
The rainfall, linked to a western disturbance, brought thunderstorms and winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h, with gusts potentially hitting 60 km/h. While the rain has provided relief from recent heat, it has raised concerns regarding waterlogging on roads and potential traffic delays during peak hours.
Forecasts suggest that wet weather may continue through Friday, October 16, with more showers and thunderstorms expected. However, weather conditions are predicted to turn dry by Saturday, October 17, with temperatures expected to rise.
