Delhi-NCR to undergo urban transformation under Master Plan 2047

The Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) are undergoing a major urban overhaul through the Master Plan for Delhi 2047 (MPD-2047). Unveiled by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the plan aims to transform the region into a world-class, inclusive city capable of supporting a projected population of 32 million by 2047.

A central component of the plan is the transition of major transit networks, such as the Delhi Metro and Namo Bharat regional rapid rail, to 24-hour operations. The strategy emphasizes Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), which focuses on creating affordable housing, offices, retail, and public services around major transport corridors to reduce congestion and improve land-use efficiency.

In response to this rapid urbanization and infrastructure growth, including new expressways and the Noida International Airport, real estate developers like Bhutani Infra are focusing on integrated, technologically advanced commercial and mixed-use developments. These projects aim to incorporate smart building management, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices to meet the evolving needs of the NCR's business districts.
