Delhi-NCR weather: Monsoon withdrawal brings heat and humidity

Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) are experiencing a transition in weather as the southwest monsoon begins to withdraw. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts predominantly dry conditions for the region, with temperatures expected to fluctuate between 33°C and 36°C.

High humidity levels, reaching up to 86% in some reports, are contributing to a higher perceived heat. While most of the NCR is expected to remain dry, some isolated areas like Gurugram may see brief spells of rain or thundershowers. Air quality in the region remains in the satisfactory to moderate categories, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) showing varying levels across different districts.

As the monsoon retreats, the region is bracing for a period of bright sunshine and warmer, drier weather, though cloud cover may persist in some areas.
