Delhi-NCR monsoon brings rain and improved air quality

The monsoon remains active across the Delhi-NCR region, bringing a period of light to moderate rainfall and cloudy skies. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall is expected to continue through August 24, with a transition toward partially cloudy skies and reduced precipitation starting August 25.

Recent rainfall has provided relief from high humidity and heat, with maximum temperatures generally ranging between 32°C and 35°C. While some areas may experience thunderstorms or light hail, no severe weather warnings have been issued by meteorological authorities.

The ongoing precipitation has also had a positive impact on regional air quality. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) indicates that many areas have seen improvements, with air quality indices moving into the green and yellow zones. While some locations like Anand Vihar continue to report higher pollution levels, many parts of Delhi and surrounding areas like Noida and Ghaziabad are experiencing satisfactory to good air quality.
