Delhi-NCR weather to turn dry and warmer as air quality declines
The Delhi-NCR region is expected to experience rising temperatures and dry weather following a period of clouds and cool winds. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the influence of recent weather systems, including a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal and a western disturbance, is diminishing.
Forecasts indicate that from September 30 to October 5, the weather will remain largely dry with clear skies. Maximum temperatures are projected to reach between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius. While daytime heat is expected to increase, slight coolness may be felt during mornings and evenings.
As the weather clears, air quality in the region has begun to decline. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) for Delhi has moved into the ‘yellow zone’ (moderate category). Specific areas such as Anand Vihar, Bawana, and Chandni Chowk have reported elevated AQI levels, while parts of Noida also maintain moderate air quality. In Ghaziabad, some areas have reached the ‘poor’ category, with Loni reporting an AQI of 151.
