Delhi Police Accused of Illegal Detention of Youths Near Jantar Mantar by CJP

The Cocker Party (CJP) has charged the Delhi Police with unlawfully detaining young people in the area surrounding Jantar Mantar, describing the actions as "illegal and unconstitutional" and demanding their immediate release. The party said that, among those held, three students carrying 300 food packets were taken to Nizamuddin police station, later freed after lawyers intervened, but the packets were not returned.

CJP warned that if the police do not halt the alleged crackdown, its members will march to the police headquarters and hold a peaceful sit‑in at Jantar Mantar. The party also announced a nationwide candle march for 26 July to show solidarity with victims of police brutality.
