Following the crackdown, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned on July 25; CJP claimed the government had accepted all its demands, prompting many demonstrators to disperse while fears of future reprisals lingered.

On August 3 the Supreme Court heard a public‑interest petition seeking an alternative venue for large‑scale protests, noting inadequate ingress, egress, sanitation and medical facilities at Jantar Mantar, and directed the Solicitor General to obtain instructions from the Centre and Delhi government. The Court later clarified that states may withdraw FIRs against student protesters unless the accused have serious criminal antecedents, reinforcing CJP’s demand for full implementation of the July 25 assurances.

CJP continues to demand Rs 1 crore compensation for families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide, withdrawal of FIRs against student protesters, and has scheduled a two‑day strategy meet in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar followed by a nationwide listening tour.
