Delhi Police arrest five suspects in 19.50 lakh rupee robbery
Delhi Police have arrested five individuals in connection with a robbery on the Rani Jhansi Flyover, where approximately 19.50 lakh rupees in cash was stolen from two merchants on September 30. The investigation revealed that an associate working in Chandni Chowk conducted reconnaissance and planned the heist with four accomplices from Ghaziabad.
Officers recovered 9 lakh rupees in cash and an iPhone purchased with the stolen funds. The victims had previously escaped an initial robbery attempt at Kashmiri Gate with the help of bystanders but were later intercepted and assaulted on the flyover.
In a separate incident, special police staff arrested two criminals, identified as Wasim and Kaif, following an encounter in Usmanpur Yamuna Khadar. The suspects, reportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi and Rasheed Kalu gangs, were shot in the legs during the confrontation and hospitalized. They are accused of demanding extortion from a merchant and engaging in celebratory firing in the Bhajanpura area on October 2.
