Delhi criminal gang enforcement operations

Overview

Delhi Police have conducted several operations against criminal gangs involving encounters and robberies.

In late September, police arrested two alleged members of the Vikas Kalia gang, Mukesh and Akash, following a gunfight in the Paharganj area near Karnael Singh Stadium. The suspects, who were wanted for a mid-September firing incident during a religious procession, were shot in the legs by police during the encounter. Officers recovered a pistol, a country-made pistol, and a stolen motorcycle.

By early October, police arrested two additional suspects, Wasim and Kaif, after an encounter in Usmanpur Yamuna Khadar. These individuals, reportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi and Rasheed Kalu gangs, were also shot in the legs during the confrontation. They face accusations of extortion and celebratory firing in the Bhajanpura area.
