Delhi Police arrest two Vikas Kalia gang members after Paharganj encounter

Two alleged members of the Vikas Kalia gang, identified as Mukesh alias Chinnu and Akash alias Matthi, were arrested following a gunfight with Delhi Police in the Paharganj area.

During the encounter near Karnael Singh Stadium, the suspects reportedly fired four rounds at the police Special Staff team. Officers retaliated by firing three rounds, targeting the suspects' legs to overpower them. Both men sustained bullet injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The suspects were wanted in connection with a firing incident that occurred during a religious procession in the Nabi Karim-Sadar Bazar area in mid-September. Police also recovered two illegal firearms—a pistol and a country-made pistol—along with a stolen motorcycle used by the duo.
