Delhi Police detains 11 Bangladeshi nationals for visa violations

On 5 August, Delhi Police’s Central district arrested 11 Bangladeshi citizens who had overstayed the permitted period of their double‑entry visas. The operation, called “Operation VISTA 1.0” (Visa Status Verification), was led by Special Staff Foreign Cell and the Anti‑Auto Theft Squad under Inspector Sandeep Dubas, with ACP (Operations) Padam Singh Rana supervising.

Police received a tip that several Bangladesh nationals were residing illegally in the Paharganj area after their visa expiry. After questioning a suspect, Naeem Ahmed, the team raided a flat in Malviya Nagar, seizing ten additional individuals. All detainees were found to be staying beyond the authorized date of 28 June 2023, without any extension or legal permission, and their passports and travel documents were seized for further legal processing.
